This is the first piece in my Xeno series, I made it in PETG after spending most of 2025 working with ceramic. I chose PETG for its clear transparency and the way it carries light. It is also strong and resists UV damage, so it can last. Even though it is plastic, I did not design it to be disposable. The form is not tied to any time or era. Like a xeno, a guest, it enters a space and quietly changes it.
I designed this lamp as a challenge, to push the limit of 3d printing. Using non-planer g-code carefully crafted to eliminate seams and be sure the extrusions follow the flow of my design, with a carefully controlled pattern that diffracts the light just how I intended it.
